Milan 2015: Powder Pastels Translucent Tint: Pastel-tinted frosted glass shades create a softly diffused glow in lighting. Milky coloured resin and sheer plastic in dry matt finishes create a similar softening effect for tabletop product and accessories. Soft Furnishings: Neat furniture seen in simple, blocky shapes is kept soft with pastel-coloured cotton, linen or suede upholstery. Most often applied in single hues, texture is kept minimal. Italian furniture manufacturer Desiooffers a pastel-coloured room set, including pale yellow movable room dividers with textile panels to match its soft pink and pale grey modular sofa. Gentle Gradients: These fresh hues are updated with brighter gradients of colour in block patterns in furniture or dispersed dot patterning, as seen on printed lampshades by Inge Sempe for Luceplan. Smooth Finish: Smooth finishes are important for these soft hues, and we see it moving on. Italian bathroom manufacturer Globo presents a new ceramic washbasin in a range of colours, including soft purple and greens. This mix of smooth finish and pastel colouring also translates into leather upholstery and ceramic tabletop. Sanded matt ceramic tableware and vessels by Norwegian potter Margit Seland have a soft and fluid form.
