Cellulose kraft pulp from planted eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus wood fibers are fine, short and soft compared to other wood species commonly used for pulpwood. The planted forests are Forrest Stewardship Council certified and include wildlife pathways containing natural habitat throughout the plantation. As a species eucalyptus, is fast growing and has a short cycle time, increasing the rate and volume of harvest. Mature eucalyptus is harvested from managed forests. The harvested wood is debarked and chipped, then pulped into smaller pieces. The pulp is then cooked or ‘digested’ followed by a series of washings and one bleaching. After bleaching the pulp is cleaned and formed into bales or sheets and dried. Bales of 250 kg (551 lb) are offered in units of 8 bales, equaling 2,000 kg (4409 lb) in total. The dimension of each bale will vary based on the factory of origin. The pulp is bleached to a stark white. Customization occurs once the pulp reaches the purchaser, and can at that stage be processed to fit the clients needs. The pulp and production facility have received operations, environmental, and safety certifications, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 respectively. Applications include absorbent articles and paper products.
