Recycled paper object dear human is the creative studio based in montreal founded by jasna sokolovic and noel o’connell in 2011. since then, the studio has developed a coherent body of work in various domains that include public space projects, product design, and the applied arts. their projects offer an alternative perception to overlooked everyday landscapes by revealing the hidden potential of places and objects. ‘paperscapes’ is an extensive exploration of paper-made objects that function as furniture, lighting, and wall treatments. using recycled paper sourced from the local industry waste, and drawing from their sculptural backgrounds, dear human has manipulated paper in a similar way to how clay can be sculpted to create limited editions of functional stools/side tables and large dome lights. ‘pulplites deux’ are a by-product of the exploration, combining ceramic tops with paper pulp shades and are in their second generation. ‘wallpapering’ is composed of acoustic paper wall tiles. their hexagonal form allows for different compositions thanks to the various themed tiles.
