100% bioplastic chair Launching at lifestyle trade show Maison & Objet (January 23-27), the Kuskoabi chair from French furniture company Alkifeatures a seat made from a plant-based plastic polymer. Designed by Jean Louis Iratzoki, it’s the first chair on the market to feature a 100% bioplastic seat. As highlighted in Biomaterials, materials drawn from renewable sources in nature are becoming increasingly popular – particularly where they can replace and replicate conventional plastics. The material used for this design is made from a mixture of beet, corn starch and sugarcane, making it fully recyclable and biodegradable.
