Setup/Opening the Lab

Before opening the lab for student use, please make sure to do the activities under Preparation. Once they are completed you may open the lab for student and faculty use.

Preparation

Safety and Reporting
In case of emergency keep yourself SAFE. Then seek assistance from the Campus Security stationed at the South Entrance. You can also seek assistance from Kelli Hornachek or Pascual Wawoe in the Department Chairs Office.
Please report any issue or incident during your work shift by sending an email to lab-assistant@cmtel.artcenter.edu.
Clean Up
Throw away trash, material waste and discarded items into garbage can.
Check table tops, counter top, exhibits/displays, pin board (by entrance), and floor.
Cleaners and cloths are stored in the locked cabinet.
Take Out Color Tools from Storage
Get storage cabinet key from Kelli or Yohana in the Department Chairs Office:
Unlock cabinet to access Color Tools. 
Set Up Color Tools
Arrange Color Tools atop the white carts and in the following order:
1. Munsell Color Tree
2. Pantone Print/Packaging Collection
3. Pantone Colour Planner S/S 2023
4. Pantone Colour Planner A/W 2023
5. Pantone Polyester Swatch Binder
6. Pantone Cotton Swatch Library Binders
7. Plastic Tints & Tones Collection (1 carousel)
8. Plastic Chips Collection in 3 carousel stacks (1 to 6; 7 to 12; 13 to 18)
Materials Collection
Inspect the Materials Collection area and make sure the space is cleaned and ordered. Material Samples  should be put back in storage or display locations. Exhibits and displays should be clean and arranged properly. Countertop should be clean and ready for use.
Open the Lab
Once the lab has been cleaned, resources inspected and setup, then you are ready to open the lab for use.
