This rigid, large format panel is a polymer based foam sheet used as an alternative to plywood and MDF in construction. It comprises a combination of a number of different recycled polymers pressed into a porous core and solid, waterproof face. Clients may provide plastic scrap for the manufacturer to make into panels. Lower melting point polymers are bonded together with higher melting point polymers to create a panel that is lightweight, able to withstand large bending and impact force, and is resistant to water. More, it can withstand up to 120°C (248°F). Standard sizes are 2.44 x 1.22 m (8 x 4 ft). Larger sizes are possible for high volume orders. A standard thickness of 18 mm (0.71 in) is offered, with other sizes available for high volume orders. Density: 650 – 660 kg/m3 (40.6 – 41.2 lbs/ft3). The panel can be cut, sawed, nailed, screwed into and otherwise worked like wood. The panels can also be welded together. The panels are currently used for construction, interior and exterior furniture, animal housing, and marine work.
