Fibrimat HD

Reinforcement mat composed of 100% flax, which enables a higher fiber volume fraction in a composite. In infusion or RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) processes, usual reinforcement mats (from glass, or natural fibers) only allow fiber volume fractions between 15-30% with common resins (such as UP or epoxy). This version offers the possibility to make the composite with higher reinforcement with a fiber volume fraction up to 55%, high flexural modulus and high flexural strength in a composite, in association with classic UP or epoxy resins. The base material is made by a process of carding, crosslapping, needlepunching. It is sold in rolls of 1 m wide (3.3 ft) and 20 m (66 ft) in length with a 3 mm (0.12 in) thickness. The color of the flax fiber is a grey/yellow. Applications include composite parts made by infusion or RTM.
